her deduction in 1936 that the earth has a solid <em><strong>inner core<\/strong><\/em> inside of a liquid <strong><em>outer core<\/em><\/strong>. previously the core was believed to be one completely\u00a0<strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">molten<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(hot liquid) entity.<\/p>\n<h6><a 1888-1993<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>lehmann lived to be 104, but unfortunately she died about 10 years before the release of the movie <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">the core<\/span><\/strong><\/em>, an action movie about the global disaster that is provoked when the earth&#8217;s core stops rotating.<\/p>\n<p>in this scene from the movie, scientists are explaining to the government and the military that the <strong><em>imminent<\/em><\/strong> (coming) danger we are facing as a result of the core stopping is the collapse of the earth&#8217;s electromagnetic radiation will <em>literally<\/em> cook our planet<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>literally<\/em><\/strong> means <em>really<\/em>. the description is apparently not clear enough for the panel to understand. to make it even simpler, <strong>aaron eckhart<\/strong>, the most noble and probably sexiest of the scientists, employs a visual effect.<\/p>\n<h6><a that the peach is the earth without its electromagnetic field. he\u00a0puts the <em><strong>charred<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(blackened, burned surface) peach in a pitcher of water and comments<\/p>\n<h4><em>feel free<\/em> to <em>throw up<\/em>. i know i did<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>feel free <\/strong><\/em>means <em>do it if u like<\/em>. it&#8217;s applied sarcastically in this example.<em><strong>\u00a0throw up<\/strong><\/em> is a phrasal verb that means <a href=\"https:\/\/richyrocks.com\/coolenglish\/remembering-the-silly-silo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>vomit<\/em><\/a>. the metaphor of the torched peach might make the people in the meeting <em>feel sick<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h6><a mars, you&#8217;re talking about <em>jump starting<\/em> a planet<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>jump start<\/strong> <\/em>is the <em>technique used to start a car when the battery is dead<\/em>. it involves using cables to connect to the battery of another car. it can also mean to <em>give a boost of energy<\/em>, similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/richyrocks.com\/coolenglish\/thats-what-im-talking-about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kickstart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>did u know that inge lehmann discovered the earth&#8217;s <em>inner core<\/em>\u00a0before today&#8217;s\u00a0google doodle? \u00a0have u
