ingraham saw an opportunity and seized<\/a> it.<\/p>\n

she assailed<\/em> james\u2019 comments as \u201cunintelligible\u201d and \u201cbarely<\/em> grammatical,\u201d then suggested he wasn\u2019t authorized to talk politics:\u00a0 no one voted for u, keep the political commentary to yourself<\/em>. or, as someone once said, \u2018shut up and dribble<\/em>‘.<\/h4>\n

whatever<\/strong><\/em> shows that lebron doesn’t even know who laura ingraham is, and implies that she is much less popular than he is. james’ thank u to ingraham was mostly sarcastic, but ingraham did in fact provoke the media to focus on lebron’s non-basketball activities, and give him the opportunity to show that he is much more than just a basketball player.<\/p>\n

in blasting<\/em> the cleveland cavaliers<\/a>\u2019 superstar, ingraham\u00a0unwittingly<\/em> boosted<\/em> his off-court business interests and bolstered<\/em> his burgeoning<\/em> identity as an athlete who uses his influence to combat social inequality.<\/h4>\n

earn<\/em><\/strong><\/a> means deserve<\/em><\/a>, get from effort<\/em>. stick to<\/em><\/strong><\/a> means continue with<\/em>, don’t do another thing<\/em>. blind<\/strong><\/em> means the critics can’t see it<\/em>. fundraising<\/em><\/strong> is collecting funds for a purpose or cause<\/em>. spring from<\/em><\/strong> is the same as come from<\/em>. grow up<\/em><\/strong><\/a> refers to where lebron spent his childhood<\/em> (akron, ohio). praise<\/em><\/strong><\/a> is strong approval<\/em>. pundits<\/em><\/strong><\/a> are experts<\/em>. it is often used sarcastically or derogatorally<\/a>.<\/p>\n

laura ingraham tells everyone who disagrees with her to shut up. not just lebron.<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n

to be fair, ingraham claims<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (says) she recently criticized popovich and has criticized various other white entertainers who offered political opinions via variations on the title of a book she wrote that most of the public is not familiar with.<\/p>\n

in 2003, i wrote a new york times bestseller called \u2018shut up & sing\u2019 in which i criticized celebrity [singers] like the dixie chicks & barbra streisand who were trashing<\/em> then-president george w. bush, i\u00a0have used a variation of that title for more than 15 years to respond to performers who sound off<\/em> on politics….. just this week [i] told the san antonio spurs\u2019 [coach] gregg popovich to \u2018shut up & coach\u2019. if pro athletes and entertainers want to freelance<\/em> as political pundits<\/em>, then they should not be surprised when they\u2019re called out<\/em> for insulting politicians. there was no racial intent in my remarks<\/em>.<\/h4>\n

trash<\/strong><\/em> means criticize<\/em>. sound off<\/strong> <\/em>means give an opinion<\/em>. ingraham’s usage of freelance<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is accusing entertainers of giving an opinion in an area where they are not experts<\/em>. call out<\/em><\/strong><\/a> means challenge<\/em>. remarks<\/em><\/strong><\/a> are comments<\/em>.<\/p>\n
