a point of confusion i’ve seen multiple times in classes is the difference between apology<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>the noun and apologize<\/strong><\/em> the verb; specifically students mix up\u00a0apologies <\/em><\/strong>(the plural of apology)\u00a0and apologizes<\/em><\/strong> (the third person singular of apologize)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

earlier today, the noun apology<\/em> was trending after former u.s. president bill clinton<\/strong> appeared on the u.s. talk show today\u00a0<\/strong>and for a personal apology<\/em> to his former intern\u00a0monica lewinsky\u00a0<\/strong>for the scandal they were both a part of during clinton’s presidency at the end of the 90s.<\/p>\n

i have never talked to her. but i did say, publicly, on more than one occasion, that i was sorry. that’s very different. the apology<\/em> was public.<\/h4>\n
