home after attending a\u00a0<em><strong>summit<\/strong><\/em> (meeting, conference) with all of the other gangs in the city.\u00a0 at the meeting cyrus, the city&#8217;s most powerful gangster, gives a speech <strong><em>urging<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(recommending) the various gangs to unite <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/polish-or-polish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>pointing out<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0(mentioning) that all together they outnumber the police 3 to 1.\u00a0 in one of the most famous lines in the movie, cyrus asks the assembled crowd of <em><strong>thugs<\/strong><\/em> (gangsters),<em> can u <strong>dig<\/strong> it<\/em>? then lowers his voice and asks it again.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 758px;\" means <em>break and remove earth<\/em>, <em>make a hole<\/em>. the most common tool for digging a hole is a <em><strong>shovel<\/strong><\/em>. <em>dig<\/em> is an irregular verb (dug, <em>can u dig it?<\/em> he&#8217;s asking the warriors and the other gangs if they <em>understand<\/em> and <em>agree<\/em> with him.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"richyrocks apply to movies that are 40 years old &#x1f639;).<\/p>\n<p>when cyrus finishes speaking he is shot by luther, the pathetic leader of another gang: the rogues.\u00a0 luther blames the warriors for his crime, so as the protagonists\u00a0try to <em><strong>get back<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(return) to their <em><strong>turf<\/strong><\/em> (neighborhood, home territory) they have to <em><strong>fight off<\/strong><\/em> (win fights against) attacks from several other gangs.\u00a0 when they finally arrive, luther and the rest of the rogues are waiting for them, and luther challenges the warriors with perhaps the most famous line of the movie, <em>warriors, come out to play<\/em>, while <strong><em>clinking<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(sound of glass hitting glass) three bottles together on his <strong><em>canst<\/em><\/strong> is an antiquated way to say <em>can<\/em>. <em><strong>thou<\/strong><\/em> is <em>you.<\/em>\u00a0technically, <em>thou<\/em> is singular; the plural is <em><strong>ye<\/strong><\/em>. <em><strong>fathom<\/strong><\/em> is still used in modern english as a synonym for <em>understand<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"
