different applications for 'lent'\" href=\"https:\/\/richyrocks.com\/coolenglish\/lent-lent-lint-lindt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> lent<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0<\/strong>every day of holy week is also known as <em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">holy<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0for example, jesus celebrated\u00a0<strong>the last supper<\/strong> (NOT the last dinner) with his disciples on <strong><em>holy<\/em> thursday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h5><em><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3128\" src=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/last-supper-300x158.jpe\" alt=\"the last supper was celebrated on holy thursday\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/richyrocks.com\/coolenglish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/last-supper-300x158.jpe 300w, https:\/\/richyrocks.com\/coolenglish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/last-supper.jpe 309w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\nthe last supper:\u00a0jesus shares a final meal with his disciples\u00a0<\/em><\/h5>\n<p>the one holy week exception is <em><strong>good friday<\/strong><\/em>, the day jesus was crucified and died. it is\u00a0the subject of\u00a0this\u00a0video from the  where jesus talks with one of his <em><strong>disciples<\/strong><\/em> (<em>followers<\/em>)\u00a0about what happened on that <em><strong>fateful<\/strong><\/em> (big impact) weekend.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">but for christians it is a <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>good<\/em><\/span> friday because they believe that jesus&#8217; extreme death followed by his resurrection on <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">easter sunday<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<a title=\"a song from catholic mass talks about jesus taking away the sins of the world\" href=\"https:\/\/richyrocks.com\/coolenglish\/granted-grant-us-peace-is-taken-for-granted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">took away their sins.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"why we say good friday\" width=\"758\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VmNM4V4dbLA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; resurrection is celebrated by christians on easter (etsy.com)<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>in my experience, good friday is the most important day of holy week celebrations in mexico while easter is the culmination of the holiday in the u.s.\u00a0 the name <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>easter<\/strong><\/span> (<em>pascua<\/em> in spanish) evolved from\u00a0 the germanic\/anglo-saxon goddess of fertility, <strong>eostre<\/strong>;
