the trio arrived at a compromise<\/em>: trump, understanding that mexicans would hang on his every word<\/em>, agreed to state that a strong mexico was also in the best interests of the united states.<\/h4>\n

a compromise<\/strong><\/em> is\u00a0a negotiated agreement<\/em>. though it looks the same, it is not the same as compromiso<\/em> in spanish, which is more correctly translated as commitment<\/strong> <\/em>most of the time.\u00a0hang on his every word<\/strong><\/em> means pay very close attention<\/em>.<\/p>\n

the relationship between kushner and videgaray, who met through friends in the financial world, has proved pivotal<\/em>, especially for mexico. they have forged<\/em> a personal bond<\/em> and helped bring together trump and pe\u00f1a nieto, whose public positions and rhetoric are at extreme odds<\/em>.<\/h4>\n

the article contains interesting alternatives for using the word\u00a0measure<\/em>. there is a\u00a0description of kushner and videgaray’s effort to persuade president trump to use different rhetoric<\/a>. they\u00a0requested\u00a0more measured<\/u> discussion<\/em>, i.e.\u00a0more\u00a0calculated <\/em>and careful<\/em>\u00a0 speech. and the authors remind <\/a>readers that trump promised a foreign policy based on unpredictability, and by that measure<\/u>, he is delivering<\/em>. in this context measure<\/em><\/strong> means criteria<\/em>.<\/p>\n
