refers to men who are <em><strong>somewhat<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(a little) <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/english-practice-from-an-acceptance-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fit<\/a>\u00a0but not completely obsessed with exercise and the appearance of their bodies. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/kevin-durant-stretched-the-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">despite<\/a> the &#8220;dad&#8221;, it is often\u00a0applied to men who don&#8217;t have children. it is\u00a0supposedly a compliment.<\/p>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" english speakers continue to use the idiom, how will <em>dad bod<\/em>\u00a0negatively impact sensitive fathers? \u00a0the latest video on the <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/richyrocks-youtube-subscribe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">richyrocks youtube channel<\/a> considers these feelings.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"dad bod\" width=\"758\" height=\"426\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>one concern for self-conscious fathers is <em><strong>body shaming<\/strong><\/em> i.e.\u00a0making someone feel bad about how their body looks. at :20, listen for the question<\/p>\n<h4>is <em>body shaming<\/em> acceptable when it&#8217;s against our fathers?<\/h4>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4175\" underline;\">shaming<\/span> a thief who stole from walmart. does the thief have a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dad bod<\/span>?<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>at :24 the observation is<\/p>\n<h4>he <em>must<\/em> be a dad. he doesn&#8217;t have time to <em>work out<\/em>.<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>work out<\/strong><\/em> means <em>exercise<\/em>. \u00a0<em><strong>must<\/strong><\/em> in this case indicates a strong probability, not an obligation.<\/p>\n<p><em>soft<\/em> and <em><strong>lumpy<\/strong><\/em> are used to characterize\u00a0dad bods at :35. <em><strong>lumps<\/strong><\/em> are <em>masses with undefined shapes<\/em>. \u00a0<em>lumpy<\/em> is used to describe objects with a lot of <em>lumps<\/em>. when <em>lumpy<\/em> is used to describe a body, it is not a compliment. it sounds unmuscular and unattractive.<\/p>\n<p>this clip from\u00a0<strong>adventure time <\/strong>s01e02,\u00a0\u00a0<em><strong>trouble in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">lumpy<\/span> space<\/strong><\/em>, features the <span style=\"color: #cc99ff;\">lumpy princess<\/span> (the purple, lumpy cloud) and has various examples of <em>lump<\/em> and <em>lumpy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div of inferiority are expressed at 1:00 in the dad bod vid<\/p>\n<h4><em>holding my body up<\/em> <em>against<\/em> younger, <em>tighter,<\/em> sexier bodies. is that <em>fair<\/em>?<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>hold up against<\/strong><\/em> is similar to <em>compare<\/em>. <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/tight-loose-not-lose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>tight<\/em><\/strong><\/a> in this context means <em>in shape<\/em>, <em>muscular<\/em>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/michael-jordan-speaks-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>fair<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0means <em>just<\/em> or <em>decent<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a the house.<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>stigmatize<\/em><\/strong> means <em>mark negatively, <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/u2-haters-hate-bono-most\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">scorn<\/a><\/em>. \u00a0<strong><em>baby daddy<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0means <em>dad<\/em>. it is often used specifically to describe a father who is not in a permanent relationship with the television.<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>frustration and anger provoke the comment at 1:25<\/p>\n<h4>dad bod <em>fights back<\/em>, <em>huh<\/em>?<\/h4>\n<p>it is accompanied by <em><strong>the finger<\/strong><\/em>, a well-known gesture\/insult directed in this video at the people who use the phrase <em>dad bod<\/em> mockingly. <strong><em>fight back<\/em><\/strong> means <em>retaliate<\/em>, <em>respond with force<\/em>. <strong><em>huh?<\/em><\/strong> functions as a general, informal <strong>tag question<\/strong>. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/u-cant-handle-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tag questions<\/a> are\u00a0complicated because they require attention to tense, auxiliary verb anyway.<\/h4>\n<p>the dad activities are reality. second conditional is used\u00a0to speculate about a hypothetical\u00a0alternative.<\/p>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"
