the biggest surprise of the nba<\/strong> offseason was free agent superstar\u00a0kevin durant<\/strong><\/a> leaving the oklahoma city thunder<\/strong><\/span> for the golden state warriors<\/span><\/strong>. like many other teams, the boston celtics<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0made an effort to\u00a0recruit\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(tried to convince him to join them) durant over the\u00a0summer.\u00a0the celtics’ jae crowder<\/strong>\u00a0has some doubts about how they went about it.<\/p>\n

salty<\/strong><\/em> means pissed off<\/em> or upset<\/em>. pitch<\/em><\/strong> is a presentation that tries to convince or persuade<\/em>.<\/p>\n

it’s common when english is your second language\u00a0to use win<\/strong><\/em> for every competitive stituation.\u00a0for example, cleveland won<\/span> golden state<\/a> in the nba finals last year. \u00a0if u are only talking about who won, win<\/em> is the right verb to use. however,\u00a0if u want to mention two or more competitors as crowder does when he talks about the celtics success against\u00a0cleveland and golden state last season, beat<\/strong><\/em> is the correct option. -cally<\/strong><\/em> at the end of a word should be pronounced as one syllable (clee), NOT\u00a0two. check the pronunciation of basically<\/em><\/strong> here<\/a>. fucking<\/em><\/strong> is used for emphasis and shows frustration on jae’s part.<\/p>\n

afterward<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0means later<\/em>;\u00a0after<\/em> durant decided to go to golden state. sit back<\/strong><\/em> means remove yourself from the situation<\/em>. \u00a0shouldn’t have told him<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0gives the idea that crowder and teammate isaiah thomas<\/strong> think it was a mistake<\/em>\u00a0for the celtics to share the strategy of how they shut down steph curry<\/strong> and klay thompson<\/strong> last season with kevin durant. this season curry, thompson and durant will be teammates.<\/p>\n

the pitch<\/em>, what he (brady) talked about was the city of boston and the fans and how he embraced<\/em> it. [kevin] wanted to hear how it was living in boston, and brady told him about the fans. they want to win; it’s all about championships here.<\/h4>\n

embrace<\/strong><\/em><\/a> means accept enthusiastically<\/em>. unfortunately for the celtics and their fans, kevin durant did not embrace<\/em> the idea of coming to boston.<\/p>\n
