the silly silo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>adventureland\u00a0<\/strong>amusement park\u00a0in suburban <strong>des moines. iowa<\/strong> opens for the summer tomorrow. \u00a0one attraction no longer available to visitors of the park is the notorious\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>silly silo, <\/strong>which\u00a0<\/span>was shut down after the 2013 season. \u00a0it is gone but not forgotten.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3236\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3236\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3236 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/silly-silo-outside-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"the silly silo\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3236\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">the silly silo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>the silo\u00a0had a rustic, metallic\u00a0essence\u00a0that was more nauseating than <em><strong>silly\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(nonsensical, <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/dopey-dope\/\" target=\"_blank\">dopey<\/a>) as if built from old farm parts for the purpose of torturing adversaries.<\/p>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3240\" src=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/silos.jpg\" alt=\"silos\" width=\"236\" height=\"281\" \/><\/h6>\n<h6><em>the name <strong>silly silo<\/strong> is a reference to iowa&#8217;s agricultural landscape. silos\u00a0are commonly seen\u00a0on iowa farms. most of them are functional, not <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">silly<\/span>.<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>admittedly, it doesn&#8217;t look so bad in this\u00a0video&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Silly Silo at Adventureland - (Chance Rotor)\" width=\"758\" height=\"569\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KOY2dvwExTM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>in fact, this is a pretty unemotional spin\u00a0on the silly silo. no one screams <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/mexican-slang-in-english\/\" target=\"_blank\">at all,<\/a> \u00a0and there is only the <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/hunger-games-cool-vocab-from-mockingjay-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">slightest<\/a> emotion when the floor falls away leaving all the riders <strong><em>stuck<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to the wall (they can&#8217;t move). <em><strong>nevertheless<\/strong><\/em>, (anyway, <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/ice-cube-isnt-pissed-about-oscar-snub\/\" target=\"_blank\">despite<\/a> that) no other ride in the park has ever provoked more <a href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/snapchat-makes-augmented-reality-cool\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>vomit<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (ejection of material from the stomach) than the silly silo.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>twas<\/strong> <\/em>(it was) nostalgia for the silly silo that inspired this video from the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/richyrocks-youtube-subscribe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">richyrocks\u00a0youtube channel<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>the bounciness of the camera images makes it feel like u are actually hearing this story while spinning inside story more.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>sawdust<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(:12 on the video) is often used to clean up\u00a0<strong><em>puke<\/em><\/strong> (vomit).<\/p>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3235\" src=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/sawdust-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"sawdust\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/h6>\n<h6><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sawdust<\/span> can be used to clean up vomit<\/em><\/h6>\n<p><em><strong>mint chip<\/strong>\u00a0(:20)\u00a0<\/em>is a flavor of ice cream. it&#8217;s green. in this story it generates green vomit, which then turns the sawdust green, creating an unforgettable adventureland memory.<\/p>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3234\" src=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/mint-chip-cone.jpg\" alt=\"mint chip cone\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/h6>\n<h6><em>a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mint chip<\/span> cone<\/em><\/h6>\n<p><em><strong>nephews<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(:30) are the male children of your brothers &amp; sisters.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/richyrocks-youtube-subscribe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fun efl practice\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" youtube<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>after all<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(:53) is used to <em>emphasize\u00a0a\u00a0conclusion that is the opposite of what&#8217;s expected<\/em>. in this case, getting an ice cream cone before riding the silly silo didn&#8217;t appear to be a bad idea, but it was.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>all that minty<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(1:00) is a sarcastic way to say that even if ice cream is mint flavored, it will not smell minty coming out as vomit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>hurley<\/strong> is a sports clothing brand. it is ironic in this anecdote (1:07) because the verb <em><strong>hurl<\/strong><\/em> is one of many synonyms for <em><span style=\"color: #808000;\">vomit<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h6><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full in this story, the velocity of the ride.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"get rid of it. good riddance!\" href=\"http:\/\/richyrocks.com\/farewell-kobe-farewell-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>good riddance<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>(1:47)\u00a0is an expression used to show happiness that something has gone or finished.<\/p>\n<p>have u ever ridden a ride similar to the <strong><span style=\"color:
