last august, right in the middle of a really weird<\/a> year, something really weird happened in the midwest of the united states, specifically in my home state of iowa. \u00a0for some reason, despite<\/a> all the different forms of media we have available for talking about odd<\/a> occurrences, iowa’s derecho<\/em><\/strong> as it was called, was not discussed very much.<\/p>\n
